Designed an immersive codex screen for my horror game concept centered around the spine-chilling journey of a necromancer 💀🎮🔮

Merlin: Tales of Necromancy

My UI/UX concept for a codex screen – specifically showing tamed spirits in the game which are collected by the main character, and demons the character encounters in boss battles. My main goal was to get creative with the subject selection menu and decided to use an animated rotating Ouija board to toggle through each item in the codex screen.

Tools: Adobe Photoshop • After Effects • Adobe XD • AI

  • I used photoshop to design realistic gold lettering and took the AI moth pedant as a source of inspiration for the logo.

  • I drew some initial wireframes using InVision, then used Adobe XD for the high-fidelity prototype.

  • I designed the moving particles for each character using After Effects

  • I designed detailed iconography mimicking a tarot card design.

  • I used Midjourney AI to create an initial rendering that inspired the logo and icons I designed. I also used Midjourney to render the backgrounds and characters.
